Old for new
When a lock has had its day, it gets a new one.
On the left, a worn and rusted mortice sashlock taken out of a door. On the right, the new one that went in. A lock that sticks or jams is often a lock that is ready to be replaced.

Look out for the van
One man, one van, every hour of the day.
Gentleman Jacks is a one-man locksmith business run from Catterick Village. There is no switchboard and no franchise: when you ring the number on the side of the white and navy van, the person who answers is the person who turns up.
That is why the reviews keep coming back to the same things. He comes out quickly, he is polite, he explains everything clearly, and the fees are fair. Across the Dales, and in Richmond, Barnard Castle and Darlington.
